hey, my new harddrive to replace my dead ibm one arrives tomorrow and i want to install windows xp on it. could i use a windows ME boot disk to get CD-ROM funcitonality and then use the XP cd to install windows? ive never tried this before. my other alternative would be to install ME from scratch and then upgrade to XP but thats a lil dumb and time consuming!

thx for any help!

you might want to change the boot order in bios to cdrom first before you try booting from the cd! :)

yea, that should work just fine. don't upgrade from ME. that can only give you problems in the long run. fresh XP is always best.

If for some reason your computer will not boot from the XP cd you can get files to make an XP boot disk from bootdisk.com . You will need six floppy disks to make the boot disks.
