First off, I'm sorry if this is a re-post, I've been searching around the forums but I keep getting topics such as "is dual core worth it", "GO DUAL CORE", "single core is still superior" or what have you.
I just recieved my new PC and been hearing of performance deficits on a fresh install of Windows XP with a dual core processor. I think I've installed the Windows XP hotfix that requires Cool n' Quiet to be enabled on my PC (which it is). Everyone seems so vague about this, does it actually result in improving performance in any way? Either I didn't install the right patch or I'm seeing no discernable differences.
Is there also any other patches/software I need to install to "fix" any performance-related issues with dual core tech? Links would be very much appreciated.
