Fresh install of Vista onto new drive?

Here is my situation. Just bought a new hard drive and want to put fresh install of Vista Ultimate on it. I am running Vista ultimate on an older drive. Can I do the install while in Vista from the old drive and direct it to new drive. Haven't tried yet because I don't want to mess anything up. Thanks much.

No, you cannot install windows from inside windows. If you are really so scared, just take out the old drive, put it back in when you are done, and use the BIOS to boot between drives.

Doesn't the install disk give you the option on which hdd or partition to install to? If so, just choose the new drive and install it there. Then you should get the option of which OS to boot into from the windows loader.

Hmmm....Anonymouse User - I haven't tried to see what the disc will allow. Once I installed Windows xp pro on another drive while i was in Vista and it worked like you suggest. This time I want to install Vista on another drive while in Vista which I never have done.
