Fresh build PLZ Help, Asrock x58 extreme locks up and then nonresponsive

Sup everyone, extrememly frustrated, but hopefully we can figure this out without an RMA.
Specs:
i7-930 stock cooler
Asrock x58 extreme
F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ - 2 x 2gb, using 1 stick to boot in white slot A1
Antec earthwatts EA-650 - 24pin and 8 pin connected
ati hd 5770
usb logitech keyboard
No hdd's at the moment just to test

Basically when i boot up, everything works fine, F2 to go into bios, loaded default bios settings, saved, no problem. CPU temps and Chipset at 40 and 38. But after a while of idling
1 minute or so the system locks up and eventually reboots and is unresponsive. If I hold the power button down it'll shut off, but then turn on again by itself and still unresponsive.
Any thoughts. Puh-leeze 😀

Stock clocks, volts and settings?

Check to make sure the NB cooler is seated properly. One of the pins on mine wasn't providing enough tension for the cooler to make full contact with the NB.

rule out the power supply after you've verified all your other temps aren't climbing out of spec during this idle time.
