I need to fly to Texas (from WI) in April for a wedding. The round trip price per ticket was $233 2 weeks ago. It then went up to $287 last week. Now it is at $184. Do you think I should wait for the ticket price to drop, or is this about as good as it is going to get?

Also, should I fly on a 717 or an MD-88. Which one is more comfortable of a flight?

I haven't flown since I was in like 2nd grade, so any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Edit:

717, not 747.

I would jump on that $184 if it includes taxes. 747 is a more fun plane to ride on, if you are not stuck in the middle section. The amount of power in one is amazing.

i didnt think too many 747s flew out of GRB ;)

The 717 is a much newer design. I'd take that. Everyone has been buzzing about how quiet it is.

Definitely jump on it in a heartbeat.

FUEL prices have shot up and will keep on shooting up even more due to the tight quantities on supply. This has a DIRECT IMPACT on air fares.

Thanks, I think I'll jump on the price.

Any tips about flying? Should I leave my 9mm at home, or can I take it as a carryon?

the 717 and the md-88 are almost identical planes. only difference is that the 717 is going to be newer and slightly quieter. when boeing bought mcdonald douglas, they transformed the md-8x/9x line into the 717 line.
