Periodically, about every 30 seconds or so, services.exe will spike up to 100% CPU usage. This is sufficiently disrupting that I cannot play games with out the computer jumping every time services.exe jumps... I have investigated the virus and have found no evidence that I am infected. I have run neumerous virusscan searches (Kaspersky) and spyware searches (adaware nd spybot) and nothing has found anything. as I said, I have recently upgraded (in April) but I did a fresh install. I am very tired of this problem, as It affects the computer when I am trying to play a game, watch a TV show, or just open a web browser... I am using the nVidia Firewall that came with my mobo (DFI nF4 Ultra-D). if it helps, here is my HijackThis Log:

Your HJT log looks OK, no signs of malware there at least. If you haven't already done so, I recommend installing Microsoft AntiSpyware, then reboot into Safe Mode with Networking and run a full scan with MS AntiSpyware, then also run a virus scan using http://housecall.trendmicro.com (just in case Kaspersky is missing something).

If that still doesn't resolve the issue, the next thing I would try is going into MSCONFIG, uncheck everything under the Startup tab, and also uncheck all non-Microsoft services under the Services tab, then reboot. After rebooting, pick one thing & re-enable it, then reboot and see how things run. If things run fine, then re-enable one more thing & reboot, see how it runs, if that's OK then enable one more thing, and so on. That should help you root out which program or service is causing the problem. I suspect it's a service since you said SERVICES.EXE is what spikes CPU usage.
