Frequency of Setup updating config file at bootup?

I posted this question in the software forum, but no response.

When you install a program, sometimes it ask you to restart you system so your config file can be updated.

For some reason, my WinME system does it at every bootup now. Is this normal? I have not noticed any decrease in performance or anything else. In fact, my computer seems to be extremely stable.

I am just curious.

That's usually an update of the Registry. Normally it does this if you have made any changes to the system or installed/removed programs.

If you are experiencing no problems, then you should be happy.

Yeah, I am happy. I wonder if it is really doing anything at this point anyways.
