Yeah you helped 'liberate' them how? We defeated the Japanese in WW2. Germans lost mostly because of the Russians. Learn some history!

Okay, that is fine - but people should save their anti-French anger for articles and news about the French that are more... political? The only thing this article is telling me is that the French are right to snub America, because our culture is dilluting theirs.

What exactly are your expectations of the French that are not being met?

And I'm sure they would with you to remember their help to give you the country you now live in today.

French involvement proved decisive, with a naval victory in the Chesapeake leading to the surrender of a British army at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. The Treaty of Paris in 1783 recognized the independence of the United States of America. Some 70,000 Loyalists departed after the war, most going to Canada, Britain, or British colonies in the Caribbean.

Sure it was the Russians.

The Liberation of France and Belgium, 1944

You might want to research exactly what position the Russians would have been in if not for Allied aid.

"The citizens of Paris rioted against German forces of occupation as Allied armed divisions crossed the Seine and approached the capital. French Forces of the Interior (FFI), which had been organized for underground resistance and supplied with arms, rose against the retreating Germans."

Hahahaha joo pwn3d h1m! W00t!

They would have been fine. Total USA troops in WWII - 600,000, British - 700,000, Russian 27,000,000.

BTW, did anyone ever notice there were more British fighting than Americans, but the British never gloat about liberating anyone.

There was a lot of French bashing after they refused to back the US's invasion of Iraq based on the strenght of the evidence of Iraq having WMD.

Boy I bet the French feel like fools now!

where do you think the russians got the equipment for those troops?
and, had it not been for US forces, the russians would have taken france too.

not to mention there were 16 million total service members in WW2. Hell, there were 300,000 battle deaths. your figure is way off.

Over 16 MILLION US troops served in WWII
