It's stupid that they banned the hijab though.... it is clearly a violation of freedom of expression/speech like we have here in the States.

The Quran doesn't even require a woman to wear the hijab, its used by men to oppress women, why dont men have to cover there hair

I wonder if this could be the one and only victory for trolls. Essentially keep trolling the Muslims until they are just completely desensitized and run out of outrage.

Then they could take their act out on each religion until they all just get over their self-importance.

Western world already did that to the other religions, just one remains with majority approved blood stained hands.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... oh man. That's a good one.

Blood isn't the only problem with religious outrage at freedom of expression, it's just the most absurd.

Except it was up to the people if it was a practice they wanted to participate in. The French Government didn't force women to wear them so oppression not found. I'm not a fan of the hijab, but it us not my place or yours nor anyone else's to say they can't wear them.

Cant wait for all the idiot leftists to cry racism and how we shouldn't do this

I think you have no idea about what "Left" really means, beyond the crap that's usually passed in U.S. as information (or, more realistically, popular culture).

FYI, France now has a Socialist president, and the journal in question (Charlie Hebdo) is "Irreverent and stridently non-conformist in tone, [with] a strongly left-wing, anarchist slant" (see Wikipedia).

Please learn to think before you open your mouth (or, as in this case, let the fingers loose on the keyboard.)

Then again, I look at your post count and join date, and it's quite indicative that you're one of those who flaunt their e-penis on the WWW...

They didn't ban the hijab, they banned the niqab. There are very legitimate public safety reasons for that because the niqab completely covers the face and makes a person unidentifiable.

Those cartoons are crap lol. Almost as crap as that stupid trailer.

They are pretty stupid. Hardly reason to riot, but when you are in a partyin' mood I guess one excuse is the same as any other.

Trying to shut down freedom of speech, and liberals call for equality

No one wants you not to enjoy your freedom. We'd like you to display a modicum of respect for those also expressing their own freedom.

I know you feel persecuted, but it's not you, it's your poorly articulated views and their general lack of any justification.

My how the world has changed, I never thought I'd see the day when the French had bigger balls than the United States.

This was already demonstrated in the early 2000's when the French President said no to an unnecessary war because the facts didn't support it.

Not to mention that
http://providencedailydose.com/2012/09/11/the-presidents-religion-matters-—-gog-magog-kolob-etc/

The response from Römer confirmed Chirac’s worst fears—Biblical writings were influencing Bush’s decisions about war in the Middle East. A certainty of God’s will would surely blind any political leader to the evidence of man—weapons inspections would never persuade the Administration if Bush believed a clash with Iraq was being guided by God. And that sealed it—Chirac would oppose all military action. France was not going to fight a war based on an American president’s interpretation of the Bible.

Using fundamentalist religious views of any sort in decision making whether it being choosing to attack an embassy or start a war is fucking idiotic.

France is the country that passed bans on hijabs. They've already abandoned freedom of speech/expression.

Not this idiotic lie again......

The Hijab as traditionally worn is NOT banned in France, the article does it best to confuse the reader though by saying that if they use the Hijab to cover their face then it's not allowed. It's a stupid article purposefully written to make stupid readers think that the veil is banned.

I did a google search and not ONE picture showed a woman wearing a hijab that covered her face.

What IS banned is the Niqab, Burqa and baklava, all three for the same reason and yet not ONE idiot is screaming about how they are impinging on the freedom of baklava wearers.
