freezing in 3dm03 cpu tests

I can't get through the 3dmark03 CPU tests without freezing, yet i can make it through 3dmark05 just fine...raising vcore to 1.75 from .7 does me no good, i don't see a point in trying .8 if i can do 05 at .7. why in the world would this happen? I'm p95 stable 12 hours+ at 1.75, and it STILL freezes.
