Freezes on start-up

When I try to start up my PC and it will load windows and then the bar will just stop moving. I went into safe mode and did a system restore to a point where it worked and it did the same thing. I've been having problems with my computer since I bought it and I must of reformatted it over a dozen times. With my most recent reformat I installed new anti spyware and virus software and it worked well up until now. I powered it down last night and got the problem I said above.

I would suspect the ram, run memtest for a few hours to verify.

Ok, I figured it out and I have the program running now. Will it run everything automatically?

On test #5 I got 88 errors but other then no others so far and I'm on #7.

Yep, that is your problem. You can try your sticks one at a time, maybe only one is bad. But you will definately need to replace one or both sticks.

Or if you find one of your sticks will pass all the tests with no errors, you can just leave the bad stick out and run with 512mb.

When I first received my computer it had 2x512mb and then I put another 2x512mb a day later. I tried all but 1 stick and they all still locked my computer up on start up.
