I have the Freezer 7 installed via backplate and screws. I just don't think it cools enough to push the cpu very far.

If I got a Tuniq Tower, could I just uncrew the Freezer and screw the new HS back in or does it require you take the motherboard out?

Thanks

Is the Tuniq the best bang for the buck in its price range?

OMGWTFBBQ?

the freezer comes with a backplate now??? WOW

Ummm.. to answer your question tho, its a NO. The Mounting systems on each sink can be tricky or different. Screw diameters and retention systems and such forth. It would be ideal using the stock mounting setup that comes with the sink unless your used to custom mounting things.

I think he meant that he used a backplate and screws to mount the Freezer 7 instead of the push pins. I've seen several people do that.

aigomorla's right though. Most aftermarket coolers have different mounting designs so I don't believe you'll be able to mount the Tuniq Tower 120 with the one you're using.

Well, I don't know about your X3210, but mine with a Big Typhoon and an open case, and a lot of vcore, still barely runs stable @ 3200 and runs over 80c on a warm day (72f) I think its a crap CPU, at least mine is.

OOps sent this as a PM, not a post.

Yeah, I bought the backplate kit for it It came with the lovely push pin job that I eventually broke the clips on So I just spent like $6 shipped to get the backplate.

So is the Tuniq Tower 120 the way to go? I will be putting this on my p5ne sli, unless I can find an IP35 Pro somewhere for a great deal

Since it has a horrble mounting system what would be a more effective cooler? The Scythe Andy Samarai?

X3210 B3 runs hot but so do all B3's.

I don't believe yours should be running that hot Mark, although Big Typhoon is not made for quads.

I ran 450x8 for quite a while on my ES and hit mid 60's.

Obviously by the number of computers in your sig, I can rule out bad mount, but it may be time for a heatsink that can handle that load.

I've personally never run into any problems with the Tuniq's mounting system. However, I have heard that the tension screws are two pieces and the heads will pop off if over tightened. Not good.

Other than that, the Tuniq is one of the best (if not the best) air coolers you can possibly get.
