Is it ok to use this cooler on an i7-975 cpu? It does say up to 130watts but I didn't know if that cpu would be pushing it?
 
Did you already purchase that cooler? If not there are better coolers available for not a lot of $ more like the Cooler Master Hyper 212.

But yes it will handle it.
