I am about to install a Freezer 7 Pro, but noticed that no thermal grease is included.

Can I just install it as is on a Core 2 Duo CPU?

Do I need to clean anything off?

Thanks

Isn't there something already on the base of the cooler. My freezer pro already had something applied.

If your's doesn't for some reason I would suggest putting some on.

It does, but I was wondering if I should buy some stuff like Artic Silver 5....it has a ton of positive reviews on newegg

AC ships their heatsinks with pre-applied MX-1 which is supposed to be as good as, if not better than AS5

MX-1 works better than AS5 on Freezer 64/7 Pro heatsinks. I can tell you this from experience...

Oh ok...so I just need to take off the stock CPU heatsink/cooler and clean the top of the Intel E6600?
