freeze when "Verifying DMI Pool Data" on boot

my computer just halts or when i boot it up while it says Verifying DMI Pool Data... sometimes it says successfull and sometimes it halts right before it gets there... do you guys know what might be wrong? the computer was working perfectly fine last week. but it was on for about 20 hours nonstop after accidentally leaving it on.. maybe something burned out? any reply would be appreciated. thanks

Its definitely a Hardware problem.

Narrowing it down will take a little work.

If you have any USB devices, remove those first.
Try reseating the Ram and CPU.

If that doesn't help, and you have a spare drive (any size will do) to rule out
the Hard drive.

Then, if you still have not found the problem, you will need to remove components
one at a time until you find the culprit.

I notice that your overclocking your system too , I have seen that happen when overclocking too much but if yours has been running fine then check your cpu and heatsink/fan and also your thermal grease hasn't detoriarated.

Try these:
  1. Check whether all the cables and expansion cards make proper contact
  2. Stop Overclocking
  3. Enter CMOS and enable ?Reset Configuration Data? (also known as ?Force Update ESCD?)
  4. Clear CMOS
  5. Flash BIOS + Clear CMOS + Reset Configuration Data
