Just as the topic, normally this only happens when FSB is above 146 MHZ, but today it happned even @ 143MHZ!!!

Even intense games are running pretty stable @ 146MHZ, so what's wrong with surfing the net???

I thought about installing the SB live!+ PCI latency patch for VIA (I have a SB live!) but my problem doesn't quite fit to the category mentioned for the patch: freeze up while copy large files between IDE/Cd ROM with sound playback.

It is just surfing internet so what the He*K???

Its Macromedia Flash programs that do it... I know from experience... but it really is because your OCing the FSB too high. I thought it weird too that I could play games and stuff but flash would crash me... but then I found Red Alert2 is VERY sensative to memory issues and it was crashing too... so even tho it is just MSIE thats crashing for you your FSB is too high.... you could try turning up the I/O voltage and see if that helps.... If I find Im wrong and it is the MB thats the problem Ill let you know, but I do think its just the FSB is too high.

Try the 1005X BIOS here... it is the 1004 BIOS but with the VIA/SBLive fix... so far it seems to be stopping these lockups... but I havent tested it long.. so give it a shot and let me know if it fixes it.

thanks man,

I am a little reluctant to do a bios level fix given that it is not official update yet, anyway will lower my bus a bit then,
But lot pf people are running 146FSB so i assume that's ok and i really wantto keep it that way cause it gives much better memory bandwidth,
