I built an inexpensive pc for my grandfather and it's having a problem.
Windows 2000
Athlon 1900
256MB DDR PC2700
80GB WD 7200rpm 8MB
32MB GF2 MX
400W Allied PSU
CD-ROM
When he turns the PC on, the initial screen comes up and freezes just before Windows would start. He called me the other night, and I had him reset the BIOS to default. It booted right up afterwards fine.
Unfortunately, it didn't stop there, freezes continue. The problem I have is that the system is about 1 hour away from me, and I haven't had a chance to look at it with my own eyes yet. I plan to do so soon, and thought if you guys had any ideas and/or experiences that could help, I'd certainly appreciate it.
