Freeze cause by NFSHP2 and Hercules Radeon 8500LE

Hi, can anyone help me solve my freezing problem when i play NFSHP2?? I have a 64Mb radeon 8500LE made by hercules and using the lates omega driver. Also tried their 7.76 and 7.72 but same thing happened. The screen freezed in the middle of the track after several minutes of playing, and there's no way to get out of it except i have to reset the computer manually. But it runs fine on my old computer with a GF2.
 
My computer locked the same way the first two times i played the game, and i also had to do the maximum reset (power down) to get out of it.

I went through and played with my settings a bit (i raised them if anything) and it has not happened again in several days (maybe 4 hours of game play).

I am using windows 2000 and a retail 8500 64meg.

I haven't looked yet, but check the ATI site for known game issues, i know there were several driver settings that had to be adressed for Porsche Unleashed to run at all, much less properly.
 
Are you sure it's the video causing the problem? Make sure you have Stereo set in Audio, the D3D/EAX setting kills performance and probably will cause stability problems.
