Freeze at Login screen w/ XP SP2

I have a problem that happens only intermitently, but its annoying -- when I start my computer it will sometimes freeze at the account login screen. I cannot click on any of the login icons and have to hit the system reset button. Then the computer works fine. Like I said, it only happens every now and then and only recently (i.e., after installing SP2).

Any ideas what this might be? I regularly run adaware and spybot S&D.

Sounds like a driver conflict to me. Try reinstalling each of your hardware drivers from the system/hardware page by hitting the update driver button for each device. I believe it could be a sound or USB driver that loads last that might be your problem but maybe someone else could chime in and give you more detailed help. Good Luck.
