I started having a boot freeze problem, while I was trying to format a new drive. at first I thought the drive was bad or that I had damaged the mobo, but the problem went away and now seems to be intermittent. What?s happening is the system will freeze during boot, right after the IDE (drive) test. If I try to go into BIOs when this condition exist nothing happens, just the freeze.
I can disconnect all drives HD, cd and floppy or one at a time and try to boot and get the same problem.
If I leave it off for a few hours, then I can boot normally. But I can run the system for a full day and it won?t happen, It started again last night while I was installing XP on a partition and this morning it was ok.
My guess is that my mobo is dying. Its an ABIT KA7.
Any feedback will be appreciated
And I Hope you all have a good holiday
