Freeware replacement for ImageReady?

For pictures try .jpg at 75%. Most still do .gif for text stuff but I found that .png gives much smaller file sizes. In irfanview set the compression to 9 for png. Thus you just eliminiated the need to splice images since your reduced your file sizes.
