freeware quickbooks equivalent?

pontifex

Lifer
My sister wants to start her own hair salon and she's looking for some kind of software to keep track of her sales and stuff.

She doesn't want to spend any money though...don't ask - she's retarded. She supposedly can't even spend $200 for Quickbooks so I don't know how she's going to afford supplies and other stuff for a salon. Her basis on this is that she can cut hair and do all that stuff but she has no business experience whatsoever.

I don't know how she expects to run a business when she doesn't want to spend money. Not that I know anything about running a business, but I expect she's got a lot to learn.

No love for GnuCash?

It's got some rough edges, but it has come a long way. And it should definitely be able to do what she needs for her small business.

It's available for Windows now, too. I was using it under Linux but am now using the latest version under Vista.
