freeware PDF viewer and printer comparison

I was on my way to install pdf creator on my home computer which didn't have any pdf printing software installed on it, then figured I might find some better replacement.

With some googling luck, I found this site that has a quite detailed comparison & contrast between different freeware proggies that have pdf output capability:

Likewise, he has a similar article on pdf readers:

Personally, I am a minimalist and didn't like the idea of installing helper programs. doPDF seems to do everything I needed so that's what I chose. Very happy that I did. Since I don't do any form filling and annotations, I decided to hold onto foxit for pdf viewing.

Sorry if this is a repost, just thought I would pass along what I found useful.

I use CutePDF:

Setups a virtual PDF printer that you can print to from any application. I used to use FoxIt, but now I just use Adobe Reader - they've cut the fat, so it loads fast now.

yeah, but that's essentially what all the freeware programs linked in the review do. Besides, if I am reading those comments right, CutePDF was casted out due to the latest version allegedly including ask toolbar malware (no way to opt out or get around it).

Didn't know adobe cleaned up their mess, maybe I should give them another chance. Did you happen to remember when did that exactly happen? Also, hows the memory during usage and recovery upon exit (e.g. memory leak)? That's something that bugged me more than the slow load times.
