Freeware CAD?

Looking for freeware in order to do house design/layout.

I've been using a version of Total 3D Home, but they want $25 to upgrade to the latest version. I'm not very impressed with their software, so I'd rather look elsewhere at this point, rather than throw good money after bad.

TIA,

$40-80 packages are available.

Daughter used Punch to layout her home for ideas before going to a contractor.

Thanks...tried the crippleware demo of Punch, didn't care for it. (Actually, I thought it was worse than the current pkg I'm using). I guess you get really used to whatever you're already working with.

For $25, I think the upgrade is the best value for me. 🙂

Thanks all.

Thanks...I hadn't found that site. A lot of the software listed there is vendor-specific, in the sense that a particular flooring or mechanical vendor sponsors the software, to list/show their products.

A majority of these packages are really for machine shops, or parts design, rather than architectural CAD. Some neat stuff there.

(Not bad things, just info for the reader)
