I don't know how similar it is but have you looked into SteadyState? it's free from microsoft.

Yep, just found it myself. There are a couple of things that I'm trying to find out if Steadystate has:

  • Maintainence Period (window of time where the keyboard and mouse are disabled)
  • "Thawed Folder" (where users can safely save a file to the local drive so they can dump to an external drive.
