Ok, I have a gateway 486 with 48 megs of RAM. More than enough to run the router program. Here is the issue:
I can ping the router, I can log into the router via the web control panel. My machines get their IP addys from it with no problem. When I try to hook to the internet with it this is where the proble is. The modem initiates, dials the correct number, strarts the handshake, then for some reason it drops connection. But it then tries to redial automatically. Bellsouth said to use CHAP, I use it, and it will not connect, so I switched to CHAP, that will not connect. The gateway sees the modem and it ids a Jaton Communicator. Any suggestions?
