I have been dinking around with FreeNas the past few days. I set up 2 harddrives, one old 5gb drive for the FreeNas install, 160gb drive for backup files.
After it was all set up and running fine, I took the system down to swap out some hardware ect but now when I reconnect the drives and run the server, it no longer sees the 160gb backup drive. Something about ad3 not found or something like that.
The file format its using is the default UFS (GPT and soft updates) Seeing the drive now says unformated in the FreeNas system info, I decided to leave it alone and hook up the 160gb as a slave on my xp box. Well of course XP cant see the drive either since its in UFS format. Now im at a loss as to how to see the content of the drive.
Is it possible to regain access to the UFS drive with a third party utility or is my backup data lost if I cant get Freenas working again somehow?
Thanks for the help in advance!
