Ok... I have a freeNAS server set up in my house right now. It's backing up everyone's data each night. Now i want to add capability to host this server on the web. I have an adsl connection, and a router with persistant port forwarding. I can run a DNS service with no-ip.com or something because I have a dynamic IP. Problem is... I don't know how to make the server the computer that is being connected to when I visit my public IP and port. FreeNAS can do FTP, so that's what I intend to run.

Anyone have insight into my little problem?

Yup, forward the port. Then just use whatever URL your DyDNS uses. And make sure your FTP server program is running!
