Just signed up my Mom's old Sprint Evo 4g with a new number and everything. The free plan comes with the following if you are unaware:

500MB data (wimax/3g)
200 Voice Minutes
500 texts.

I had to put in a c/c but at the end it cost me $0 at checkout. Pretty cool if this works out... I like free... :D

people have mentioned this before and no one has bragged about it later so my guess is its useless

i didnt feel like reading the googlenews article that closely but they did mention you will be able to do this with nexus 5, that might be sorta cool for verizon people

I bought a Freedom Pop phone as a beta tester with this plan, the phone is definitely not a flagship device, but for free (the phone was $100), I'm not going to complain.

Lots of people are registering their old sprint phones for the free basic plan... obviously you need wifi/3g signal in order to call... but for free... why not?
