Every time I click on the exe it gives me an error (A debugger has been detected, Unload the debugger and try again). I have uninstalled and reinstalled, reinstalled in a different directory.
Windows XP
Athlon 1.4
Gainward Geforce 3 (21.83 only driver that will run my resolution (1600 by 1024 sgi 1600sw) correctly)
Soundblaster live
Pioneer a103

I have a bunch of programs running in the background but have closed all of them and still gotten the same error. As a note before buying the game I had the demo and it ran fine. I did install the editor and character creator but have since uninstalled them to see if that was the problem but it has not helped. I have uninstalled and removed all entries in the registry to freedom force and related programs, then reinstalled on my second hard drive, I am still getting the same error. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

This is from a post on the official Freedom Force Forums:

"There are two fforce.exe files, one in the root install directory and one in the System directory. The shortcut is linked to the exe in the root directory, and executing that one gave me an error "debugger detected. Please unload debugger". I then executed the one in the System directory and the game ran, but I ran into a problem others were reporting where you couldn't click on anything (like the help shields, health, etc) and there was no narration (basically no scripted events were happening). SO, I copied the exe in the System directory to the root directory and things seemed to work fine. I got through the first mission and started the second.
If anyone has any information on what the problem here is, and why there are two fforce.exe files that get installed, and why one works and the other dosen't please post it!"

Hopefully that helps.

Thanks, copying the other exe seems to have worked. I had tried running that exe from the system directory and gotten similar errors to the person who posted on the freedom force forum, but had not thought of replacing the other exe.
