Freecell Hanging Up

Ok, it's not the end of the world but it's really aggravating. I'm not really "techy" (tacky, yes - - techy, no). Ever since I installed my Logitech Cordless Duo (thanks to the Hot Deals forum making us aware of the recent BB PM to OM for $6.xx AR), Freecell hangs up when I click on the shortcut. It does take me to a game, but the hourglass just hangs there. All you can do is exit out of the system. Can't play the game at all.

Is this a coincidence about Logitech/Freecell? Or have others had this happen?

Another odd thing is that in the statistics the score for the current session is 0 wins and 14972 losses.

Weird!

Any help would be appreciated.

I Googled "Logitech Freecell" and it seems that other people have this problem too. Do you have the latest Logitech drivers installed for your combo?

On another forum that I found on Google, someone suggested preventing em_exec.exe from loading. em_exec.exe is a file that comes with the Logitech drivers.
You can go to Start->Run and type msconfig and hit enter. Go to the startup tab and disable em_exec.exe. Disabling the file might prevent some of your keyboard/mouse features from working though.

Thanks, igowerf. I installed the drivers that came w/combo.

I do think it's some file in the booting up process causing the problem. Sometimes if I click on the Freecell icon early in the boot, I can get Freecell to work.

I'll try your other suggestions tonite when I get home.

Update: Tried the Start>Run> etc. thingy but didn't see the em_exec.exe file. There were some Logitech files but none w/that name and I didn't want to risk deleting a file w/o knowing what I was deleting.

Was able to Ctrl-Alt-Del and End Task to delete it from my current session. Prolly have to do that every time I boot up, huh?

If you cant disable it in msconfig. Just find it on your hard drive via search and rename it to something like REMem_exec.exe. This should keep it from loading on startup.
