FreeBSD Newbie Needs Help!

AIght just installed FreeBSD 4.4 for the first time, and all the text is garbled on everything.

So like all I see are vertical lines in place of text. Can I fix this or is it time for a reinstrall?

Using KDE Desktop and an s3 Vision 864 2mb vid card if that helps....
