FreeBSD mail server

Seems SATA is the hottest thing around, so is it worth using it on our new server?
Is SATA more for RAID?

Or should I just stick with IDE? Will FreeBSD recognize the drive w/o any problems?

for servers, SCSI is the only disk array i would consider.

Go SCSI, you will not regret it.

Klixxer - I know I should be using SCSI but we've been running with IDE for over a year now w/o a hitch.
We're looking to upgrade our web and mail server has they both run on separate PII-450 MHZ computers with less than 512 MB of ram. We have no speed issues or anything like that. We might consider SCSI depending on how much our CFO have budgeted for us.

HKSturboKID - You're correct, speed is fairly the same with SATA and IDE. We're going with IDE for now. I'm looking up prices.

scsi over fibre channel would be awesome, but hes gotta think about how heavily taxed his mail server is going to be. he said that speed wasnt a problem on a lowly PII-450 so i think all that would be overkill.
