Freebie WAV-->MP3 conversion

Muse

Lifer
Friend of mine asked me what he can use to convert WAV files to MP3 files. What should I link him to?

I use Audio Grabber 1.83 for that and related tasks. Works well and is free.

Thanks. I did some searching and just sent him this:

Done a bit of research. You could use Windows Media Player. It's built into Windows. Don't know what versions support it, but am told that version 11 does, and if you don't have it, it's a free download.

You could use Audacity, which is also free download, and has a lot of functionality. It looks alot like ProTools, and you can do many of the things on your PC with it that you can do with ProTools, very handy! To do the conversion with it I'm told you'll also need to download the free LAME MP3 encoder, not a biggie.

There are a ton of other free programs that will do it, just do a search on WAV to MP3 conversion.
