No, you do not have to. I believe it just takes you over the QuakeCon website afterwards so you can register there, but you do not have to.

You signed up for this one also didn't you? Just in case you didn't know, when you sign up for the same magazine multiple times (using different offers) they usually add a year to your current subscription. Just a FYI
