only if you have crappy speakers. Don't bother if you have a good sound setup going.

I noticed an improvement in sound quality even on my DTT2500 speakers. However, some songs end up sounding pretty bad because of the algorithm that they use. I haven't used it in a long time so I can't remember exactly what the problem is.

I noticed the difference when using a headphone. Haven't tried it on speakers yet. Like it so far. I wonder if it can be used in games as well?

[edit] Ok I just reread that old thread, and WOWthing is worse then I remember. It is a POS, STAY AWAY unless you have REALLY CRAPPY speakers [/edit]

If you install this, and then don't want to run it, make sure you DON"T JUST TURN it off. You need to remove the plugin. When you just turn it off, it makes everything sound like crap, when you remove the plugin, you notice that it's almost the same as before.
WowThing is more of a gimmick then anything else.
I give this
1/2 a star out of 10.

I personally use DFX 3.3...I tried WowThing and on certain songs, especially acoustic, it sounds like they are being played under water.

DFX gives much more control and the trial version is all you need.

Changes sound quality, yes. Improves it? I guess if you're the type who always pushes the "loudness" button on your stereo.

If you have nice speakers already wowthing blows. If you have crappy or ones that don't hit highs too well then wowthing is for you.

The loudness button on stereos adds the proximity effect to the music. When you listen to music softly you loose a lot of the bass and some mids. The loudness button increases the bass and the highs. Try it before bashing someone.

For any other questions, look up the Fletcher Munson Curve...
