Just wondering how many of you have gotten your free Windows 10 upgrade notification in the notification tray?

So far I only have it on 2 machines. I've heard it rumored that even pirated copies of Vista on up will be offered the free upgrade.

I'm not sure if it was delivered via Windows Update or what, almost would have to be though. Therefore I'm checking for updates to all the machines not yet having the notification.

It's coming soon, July 29th pending any delays.

I have Win 10 Tech Preview on a laptop. Their advice to not put it on your primary computer was well founded. But it has improved with each update. Still not sure it is ready for prime time. My current ver. is 10074. I am in the slow lane so I don't get the bleeding edge stuff.

The latest stuff I have read indicates
HTML:
no updates for pirated versions.
I stand corrected. PC World says otherwise. MS will give legit copies to pirated versions.

Also, you only get notified if you have the latest Windows updates. The notification went out with the last update cycle.

Also, don't quote me, but I don't think Vista is eligible. Just Win 7 sp1 and 8.1. can be updated through Windows updates. Some others can but will have to do it by ISO. edit

Ars Technica, PC World and some of the other tech sites are writing articles as info trickles out. And Microsoft is being somewhat cagey.

I got it for all my WIN 7 and 8.1 machines.
Nothing on my Vista laptop, but it is 32bit and I don't expect that to be supported anymore soon.

Yeah, was an update they pushed out in March. I'd much rather prefer a clean install over an upgrade from 8.1. I'm sure there will be a way to upgrade from a USB drive or DVD.
