You may have seen this deal offered in PC Magazine and in Computer Shopper. 1and1.com is offerring 3 years of web hosting for free.
This is pretty good plan, which 1and1.com claims usually sells for $29 per month, and is called their Professional plan. It is eCommerce capable.
You don't need a credit card to sign up for one of these accounts. However, if you decide to register for a domain name, then you will need a credit/cash card.
Just as good a deal is the price of registering domain names: $5.99 each for one year. I don't know any other domain name registers with such a low price. In comparison, RegisterFly.com charges $9.99 each.
I've had one of these accounts for a month, and it sets up fine and no other charges.
This would make a fine gift to someone if you already have a website.
I did a search of other messages here, and I could not find that this offer was posted here before.
Lastly, the free offer expires on Dec. 31, 2003.
