Yup. It's HOT only if you have an MSDN subscription (Professional or higher) or have Visual Studio 2003 (Professional or higher).

Otherwise, this deal is not hot at all.

Awesome...my boss was just about to get a new MSDN subscription after letting it lapse for a few years. This should sweeten the deal for him.

If you purchased an eligible product at a store or Web site or via catalog as a single-user license, the ViewSonic V37 Pocket PC offer is still available. Availability is ensured through May 6, 2003, 11:59 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

This may seem like a stupid question, but I had to ask anyway...

This doesn't apply to Visual Studio .Net 2002 or Academic License, does it?

Here's pricing information.

Linky

If you have 2002 and it isn't the educational version, you can upgrade for $29. I guess if you do that, you'd be elligible for the free PPC.

Unfortunatley no:
Please note, the following products are not eligible for this offer:
Visual Studio .NET 2003 acquired as a $29 Direct Upgrade for full packaged product customers or a free license grant for eligible volume customers of Visual Studio .NET 2002

It looks like the cheapest way to do this is get the .NET 2003 Upgrade for ~$500, of course then you could buy the PPC. I studied it for awhile this morning and couldn't see any better options. :frown:

I bet if you go back tomorrow, it will say it's ensured through May 7, 2003, 11:58 PM EDT. Basically, you're guaranteed in as long as you get in by the end of the day.
