VMware Player
What is VMware Player?
VMware Player is free software that enables PC users to easily run any virtual machine on a Windows or Linux PC. VMware Player runs virtual machines created by VMware Workstation, GSX Server or ESX Server and also supports Microsoft virtual machines and Symantec LiveState Recovery disk formats.

I'd just be happy if GSX server wasn't so damned expensive. $1700 is just too much. If it were like $799 to compete with the inferior MS Virtual Server at $599, it'd be ok.

I would think that VMWare is going to lose some money on this product. How are they going to stop someone from creating a bunch of virtual servers for themselves with the free trial version of VMWare Workstation, and then running them on VMWare Player once the trial expires?
