FREE TRIAL TO EVERQUEST II

Either WOW is really killing them or there is a catch I'm not getting. So we get to play EQ2 for 1 year if we subscribe to Fileplanet just once?
 
It's ok. You can't leave the noob island. They should let you glimpse one of the big cities for just a bit... that would probably get some people to subscribe.
 
I don't think you have to pay anything to subscribe. I think you can just sign up for a free account. I have a free account and they let me download the game.

What about everyone else?
 
Just to clarify something

"You'll be able to create up to four characters, play the tutorial and explore the Island of Refuge" I don't think you can play the whole game your restricted to one area. Plus I don't subscribe to Fileplanet I have a FREE account and they still let me play. 🙂
 
I signed up for the free account and the game is asking for a registration / license code to play it that I can only get subscribing for a fee.

Except Blizzard still hasn't fixed bugs that are in the game from beta...come out with updates in oh, 3 month intervals...at least Sony keeps their stuff updated.

Wow - gets kinda boring after you have a few toons max level and have nothing to do.
 
I downloaded this two weeks ago. It has been there since, guess no one noticed. I have not installed it yet. It is supposedly free til June of next year. I figure it is probably pretty limited because that is a lot of money if you get 16 months for free. Btw, I signed up for the $10 quarter for FP two weeks ago when they started to offer the deal.
 
eq2 < wow < coh

I have a sub to both wow and coh, everyone from the press will have u believe that wow is the greatest thing ever. I still enjoy city of heroes more.
Its sidekicking system allows u to play meaningfully with almost any level char. Very useful when u introduce new players and if the player base u play with dont play as much or more than you. OUr current group on heroes range from level 9-50, all useful members of the team when u group.
Nothing like this on wow, except maybe the xp boost when yer away a long time. STill the few ppl i came to wow with, most have out leveled me by a long way, level 30+ now and im useless to them to play with.

coh, has a more satisying battle system and the subject matter is more appealing to me. The fact that you can group much easier puts it over the top for me. Isnt that why you play mmorpgs, to play in groups?
COH is 9.99 after a rebate from frys. Comes with free month. imho its well worth the chump change. Also this dvd version comes with a built in travel pwr.

Im keeping my wow account since i do enjoy its change of pace every now and then and it is a very well polished game.
as for eq2, hate to crap, but frankly with wow and coh around, i dont understand why ppl would waste time with that game. I tried my friends account and it was none 2 impressive.

Well I can't complain about EQ2 Played since early beta put in my list of bugs all got fixed in a patch a week later. Played WoW in beta put in a lot of bugs half are still not fixed heh. I enjoy both games the story line of both are nice but for me I prefer pve vsr pvp and WoW is more for the pvp type of person in the later stages. To each their own but neither can be put down as bad in my book.
 
For those of you that haven't played a MMORPG...don't...it's like Crack!!! You whole life is consumed by them!! I know from experience...I'm a FFXI junky and I swore I would never play any MMORPG and now it's all I think about!! LOL
