You've gotta pay doctors fees to get the free trial pair; i wanted a trial pair of colors but it says, "The free trial pair of Acuvue Colors is for in-office trial, they have no prescription power and show a red Test when looking down". This deal is cold, my optometrist gives me a free pair when I go in and drop 80 bucks for a supply.

Are these the ones that one can leave in for an extended period of time before disposing of them?
The last kind I owned I had to take them out every night or they'd stick to my eyeball. :disgust:

I use the acuvue 2's, and I think those are the ones that you're supposed to be able to wear for a few days without completely depriving them of oxygen (though I think they still recommend you remove them every night). This deal isn't that hot, whenever I go in to get my eyes checked they give me a pair or two of contacts to try anyway.

neurotrophik,

I would love to know where you got that information from. I did not see any of the restrictions you were quoting. Here is what I found at the bottom of the form:

**Only an Eye Care Professional can determine which Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. Contact Lenses are right for you. Eligible products include: ACUVUE®, ACUVUE® 2, ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS?, ACUVUE® BIFOCAL, ACUVUE® TORIC, and 1-DAY ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses. Limit one certificate per person. Offer not valid where prohibited by law. Free Trial Pair Certificate valid only within the United States of America.

By ?You?ve gotta pay doctors fees? I assume you mean ?pay for the eye exam?. I do not see anywhere that they have no prescription power or that they show a red ?test? anywhere on the lens. Have you actually used this certificate for the free contacts before?

I also have never received free contacts from my eye care professional. If you are already getting free contacts GREAT! For those of us who don't, I still think this is a pretty good deal.

I agree with you that it sounds like he is making stuff up except the part about the free contacts. Last time I went my doctor gave me 14 pairs of free "trial" lenses. That's over 2 boxes worth! This is partly because it takes him a week or more to get my prescription in (pretty strong :() and because he knows I a poor recent graduate :(

Here's where I got that information from; the coupon they tell you to print out.

Present this certificate to your participating Eye Care Professional. An Eye Exam will determine whether or not the ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses you have chosen are right for you.** If they are, you will receive a free trial pair. Offer good on any ACUVUE® Brand or SUREVUE® Brand Contact Lenses. Offer not valid where prohibited by law.

*Professional exam and fitting fees are not included.

The Free ACUVUE® 2 COLOURS? trial lenses are designed for in-office trial to determine which color will look best on you. The trial lenses have no prescription power and are marked with the word "test" so when positioned under your eyelid you can easily evaluate your favorite color.

So you get a **free trial pair of non-prescription lenses with the word "test" on them.
