Free Tommy Chong

Why? There's little gray area to the laws he broke. He used his movie character persona to capitalize on items he shouldn't have been selling. No sympathy here just because he's "famous"

Mainly because he was singled out for "example punishment".
Secondly, his movie persona is a fictional character and as such, is hardly the basis for a character assasination as is taking place here. If we are to follow your logic, Gov. Schwarzenegger will be prone to violent solutions to a recalcitrant California Legislature.
Thirdly, Medical use of Marijuana has recently been reviewed by The US Supreme Court. And the times, "they are a changing".

And Finally, it's a bogus charge in the first place. I say he was entrapped by an anti drug zealot.

You are entitled to your own opinion.

Sellling bongs should not be illegal in a free country. People are free to smoke whatever they want in a bong.

Our laws will steal all of our freedoms. I can't believe they send an old man to jail for selling bongs. Look at what out country has become. It is so shamefull.

I don't even understand what he was arrested for. I mean, I can go to half a dozen legitimate businesses here in the Portland Metro area that sell every smoking utensil known to man.

If it's so illegal, why are they all still in business? Did he explicitly state they were for marijuana use or something?
