I'm sure this will get shat on for innumerable posts, but I'd like to announce that Milton Friedman's 10 part PBS series "Free to Choose" is on Youtube if you haven't found it already.

It's a common sense approach that is comprehensible to non-economists like me. It's also fun to watch the debates halfway through each segment.

You ought to able to find the other 9 segments from the above link.

I was considering watching it up to the first fallacy - which I expect within five sentences - but the introduction reminded me people are properly simply "appalled" by his ideology, and I decided not to bother. I've looked at it more before, and decided it is poison. I could explain more, but it seems wasted on those who are his followers.

Poison gets far too much (often bought) attention, and I think it doesn't deserve more. It tends to smother the agenda even if the discussion is about attacking it.

If we're pointing out Friedman's wrongs (and Coulter's and Beck's and Sowell's and Hannity's ad nauseum), we're not talking about useful issues.

Debunking Friedman and Rand and such over and over is tiresome.

What we need more is education about better policies.

He advocates a negative income tax for poor people. Doesn't sound like Republicans should like him very much.
