It seems like a good way to watch Eurpoean stations and listen to Europen radio without a whole lot of expense.

Does anyone here use it, and is it more of a pain than it is worth?

Is there any good free American programming? (I am looking for legal, free stuff, not pirated stuff).
 
You're going to need at least a 30" dish to get the European sats. Provided you have the co-ordinates, it's extremely easy to setup. As for North American sats, there's only the major broadcast networks, weather channels and PBS.
