Taxslayer.com is offering free E-filing for both State and Federal returns for all residents of the 5 boroughs of NYC this year. Their software is free for everyone, by the way (no matter if you live in NY or not). NYC residents will save the $9.95 E-filing charge.
State e-filing is free for everyone.

Note: Free Federal E-filing also includes Washington, DC residents.

Well, that's weird because I did explicit searches for both Taxslayer and Taxslayer.com in the Hot Deals forum with no results. So, blame the AT search engine...heheh...anyway, I'm not looking for credit. Just passing along info.

I'm not trying to thread crap. I think this is a great deal, especially since I'm only a few blocks away from Ground Zero. However, how do we know for sure this place is legit? I'm hoping I can feel VERY secure about my info before I hand over my SS#, my salary amounts, etc.

I did a whois on taxslayer.com , and it didn't help me much in trying to figure out whether or not this is legit.

Any ideas?
