Free Target $50 GC for test driving Saturn

I saw this on another forum and just tried it this morning. At a Target B&M pick up a Lullaby Club package at Customer Service. Inside find the the mail-in form for the free Target $50 Gift Card. Fill out and take to a Saturn Dealer to have them validate. In Maryland you don't even have to take a test drive. I ended up test driving a "Vue".

Side note: After that I went by a Honda dealer to compare to the new Honda "Element". Just a quick look and it appears the Honda is more refined and you get more for less, but "Vue" has 0% financing or $2000 rebate which might tend to even thing out, but I don't think so.

The test drive offer is in the Lullaby Club package that you get at the Customer Service Counter at Target. You then go to a Saturn Dealer, take a test drive and have the dealer validate the offer. The card is postage paid, so you just mail it in to Saturn and they send you a Target Gift Card for $50.
 
I heard that the saturn vue's engines will be made in China ... ... ...

For me, makes it really iffy
 
dude... Saturn has their parts made wherever they can, but ther supervise the process to the extreme. My old SW's engine was made in the US... in the early 90's... and we were not producing quality metal then, or engines. BUT, my 1.8L 4banger went 220,000 miles, until i totalled it. Never burned oil, and i drove that car hard... i mean hard, 5K rpm shifts, rally racing... you name it, but that thing herd up.

if i had any money, id get a new saturn any day

I just told them...I'm not in the market to buy a car. If you want me to test drive it anyways, I can.....but why waste our time. The salesperson agreed, signed it, and got us out of there.

It is best to do it on a Saturday when they have people who are seriously considering buying a car in the lot.

It is actually written in the fine print on the test drive offer card that you mail into Saturn. I guess it's Maryland law or something the Attorney General drew up for Maryland residents?
 
Are the Saturn's made by GM? If so, don't they have the take this car out for one day and sleep with it deal? Also, my sis used to have one of the first few Saturns and the semi-metallic brakes and it made her very very weary of Saturns.
 
The Target in Gainesville Fl won't give Lullaby Club packets to anyone except
pregnant mothers. My wife said she was the grandmother and they wouldn't
give her a packet.

I quess you have to tell them you are pregnant (young Anandtech ladies), or
send in a young lady to pick up this packet.😉

i'd choose honda or toyota =Þ

and since ur talkin about rally, subaru would be the choice =)

it's the baby registry. also, I read on FW that there are 2 different packets - one old and 1 new. Mine was cream color with a (baby 🙂) blue border, and it had the offer in there.

 
Got the package for the gift card. My girlfriend stared daggers at me when I asked for the package & the guy kind of looked at me weird, but owell. (We were there signing up for the wedding registry at the time.) Test driving is like a free fun ride anyway. You have to punch it for the speed test & see how it well the ABS works & how the vehicle corners in case you are ever in a race at Indy.

Just got back from Target, got my package and it had a $25 cert. in it. It is sunburst yellow colored. Then I opened it up and started reading the terms and conditions..."must take test drive by January 31, 2003 🙁 I think I'll stop at the Target by my house later and see if they have some new stock.

What's the terms on the ones you guys are getting?

I haven't done the test drive yet so I just happen to have the card right here!

It says, "4-6 weeks, if you haven't received in this time frame, call: 800-229-0234"
 
In car and driver, they just had some information that the new Vue engines will be made by Honda. Not too shabby!
