I own them all already. Nvidia should send me a $20 MIR for my next gfx card purchase instead ;)

Actually, the real winner in this is HL2 Deathmatch.. I don't believe that was ever available for free (unless included in another Steam bundle.) So, good deal for that game. The rest is also available otherwise.

Own them all, but they are some cool games. Admittedly HL2-Lost Coast is short since its a single level. But it was the first game I played when I went from my GeForce 4 MX 420 on HL2 to my Geforce 8 8400GS. HOLY CRAP. DX7 had muddy water, low quality textures, 800x600 resolution. Now I was doing DX9, crystal clear water, 1280x800 resolutions, high textures, anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, HDR lighting. It made me find the joys of HL2 all over again :)

Peggle Extreme is a game I never expected to find a lot of fun to play, but its just a blast when you want to introduce a friend to PC gaming. Its sooo simple that I didn't have to explain any FPS WASD setup, just let em bounce a ball around and knock out colored dots.

I wound up buying that Peggle game after d/ling the demo. I swear my wife has played that 2 hours a day since I boughtit, best $10 I ever spent. :)

The deluxe version gets quite a bit more difficult once you are past the demo levels.

Its really kind of fun, I might have to d/l some of the other PopCap games for her to try.

Is Steam going to junk up my system? Can I uninstall it completely after I download the games?

Thanks, I just wasted a bunch of time playing Peggle Extreme.

I also just dug out my old Half-Life CD, but my old login isn't in their system. I'll see if Steam support can help me out.

No, your system will be fine. Steam is a completely legit and clean application.
