Our senators and congressmen need the pocket Constitution worse than we do. Maybe after reading it they will realize the founders did not intend the government to control so many aspects of our lives, and rape our pocketbooks. Freedom and Liberty is what this county was founded on, but it's sad to say we don't have much of it anymore. (I know we have a lot more freedom than other countries, but not nearly what the founders intended.)

I like one of the statement options: "Thanks. I don't usually vote, but I like free crap."

Geeks in politics. That's funny.

Most geeks I know are less aware of other people than they are of a little humming, biege-colored box. Luckily, most everyone else is completely unaware of geeks; so there is a certain symmetry to it....

I won't say anything else as there are some rude close minded people on these boards, but if you have half a brain you realize it IS A HOT DEAL when government gets smaller and therefore reduces taxes. We are all here trying to save money, the biggest hot deal of your life would occur if government stopped taxing 1/3 of everything you make, stopped taxing the interest you make from saving that already taxed money, and stopped taxing you when you want to take the money out of the fund you have put it in. The same money taxed three times is no hot deal. I won't even go into liberal socialistic programs and government handouts which make American more dependent on the government, and therefore vote for the same liberal politicians. How do they keep their elected position? Give the lazy more money!

The CONSTITUTION (thread title) was created to protect us FROM the government (SAVE MONEY = HOT DEAL). If the people we elected actually understood the Constitution (i.e. take advantage of the pocket constitition hot deal and read the damn thing) we would all have a lot more money to spend on stuff here.
-so don't read my comments if all you have is sawdust up there, and shut up yourself rude dumba$$. 'nuff said.

you guys do, of course, realize that the gubmint doesn't use .com addresses... and even if they did, getting 'free' crap from the gubmint is only costing you more money in taxes. i would rather get nothing from the gubmint and pay them nothing.

Sweeeeeeet.

We will always be paying taxes no matter what, may as well get something for it (they already have this stuff set aside in the budget, so the money is already spent).

I also like being able to get a list of what my rep. has done this past year.

Great find if this works. It was also cool to actually take the time to find out who my rep is (I honestly had no idea, how sad is that?).

Hmm...how, then, do you explain domains such as usps.com and airforce.com? Those are just the ones that popped to mind...I'm sure there are more. (usps.gov and af.mil also work and are more appropriate...though the two Air Force domains go to different locations (IIRC, one is for recruiting and the other is for everything else).)

The distinctions between .com/.org/.net have become blurred...for instance, in what parallel universe is Slashdot a non-profit? While .gov/.mil/.edu are still fairly tightly-controlled TLDs, .com/.org/.net were long ago opened up to anybody who had a few bucks to spare.
