STARBUCKS HELPS LOCAL RESIDENTS BEAT THE HEAT AT THE COOLEST NEW HOT SPOT IN SACRAMENTO

Visit the Starbucks Iced Coffee Bar for Complimentary Iced Coffee and Spectacular Live Ice Carvings

WHAT: On August 16, Starbucks will surprise and delight local residents at the Starbucks Iced Coffee Bar, made almost entirely out of ice, in Capitol Park ? on the corner of 10th and L Street in downtown Sacramento. Residents are invited to stop by between 6:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. for a complimentary Iced Coffee or Iced Café con Leche ? refreshing treats to escape the record-setting summer heat. While sipping their icy beverages, visitors can watch as professional ice sculptors carve spectacular creations before their very eyes.

In addition, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. that day, Starbucks invites Californians to take an ?Iced Coffee Break? and visit participating Starbucks locations throughout California to enjoy a complimentary, tall (12-ounce) Iced Coffee or Iced Café con Leche.

WHEN: Wednesday, August 16, 2006 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

WHERE: Sacramento?s Capitol Park ? on the corner of 10th and L Street in downtown Sacramento

VISUALS: The Starbucks Iced Coffee Bar and live ice carving display will provide incredible visuals and serve as the perfect backdrop to let your viewers know about the ?Iced Coffee Break? happening later in the day. Construction of the bar will start at 6:00 a.m., and is an impressive visual in and of itself! Get ready to celebrate the beauty of Sacramento by watching the ice artist create a sculpture of the State Capitol.

MORE: The flavor of Latin America has never tasted so cool and refreshing. A chilled variation of a popular Cuban coffee drink, Iced Café con Leche is made with Starbucks Terraza Blend, classic syrup and a touch of whole milk.

edit: All company owned Starbucks locations in California will be participating. This means that licensed store locations, such as those found in airports, hotels, grocery stores, etc. will not be participating.

I'm from Fair Oaks! Weird. Count me in on this one. Perhaps we'll cross paths and not even know it...
